The geometric works were inspired by my grandmother’s patchwork quilts. 

Typically the colors are strong and exuberant.

In the patten paintings, by repeating a “cell” (be it a color, a shape or mark) the painted surface becomes a uniform, flat decorative plane. This “cell” can be manipulated by changing scale, color, density, frequency or inclination producing a rich, dense, overall effect.
